I would love for everybody to enjoy the finest spinning fiber and yarn I am privilege to grow and use for creating. The physical and emotional rewards that accompany raising lovely sustainable wool goes far beyond the beauty of the final product. We can’t do it alone.
Collaboration: The sheep grow the wool. The shearers shear it. Thanks Colin and Siri @ Yankee Clippers The shearing team, yeah we have a shearing team! The Shepherd, Supervisor and I are joined by friends who devote part or a whole day helping harvest wool. We haul it, skirt it, tag it and bag it. Thanks friends, you know who you are! I'm indebted. The millers wash it, card it, spin it. Thanks Kathryn and your team @ewetopiayarn for your professional, consistent, beautiful work. Oh yeah, back up, there's more: feeding and watering, growing and baling the hay, cleaning out the waterers... and all else that goes into raising sheep and fine wool yarn. Do I brag on the shepherd often enough... he was trimming hooves last Sunday while I “helped”? That was some collaboration
Team work at its finest to bring you our finest Illinois grown wool yarn. Photo: Beautiful sheep and a Log Cabin table runner. More to come about collaborating with mentors and colleagues on this project! Anne
