Fiber Arts

Classes and Demos

I am a teacher for students with disabilities by day, and I love the learning process. Teaching others new skills is motivating to me. I teach yarn dyeing, and beginning rigid heddle weaving: how to warp the loom. Log cabin and Squares & Rectangles are also fun patterns I like to share with others. I have taught classes at the following fiber fests: Stephenson County Fiber Fair in Cedarville, IL, the Northern Illinois Sheep and Fiber Festival in McHenry, IL, Macktown, IL: All About Fiber event,  Threads and Fiber Festival, DesMoines, IA and at Front Range Fiber Arts Bash in Fort. Collins, CO.

Contact me to teach rigid heddle weaving classes; I provide the looms for those weaving classes ... try it before you buy it idea.

I can also teach homegrown yarn dyeing or roving dyeing for spinners.

Homespun Yarn:

My fiber arts passion started with spinning. I love using our fiber to create one of a kind yarns. I use these yarns to create a variety of scarves, shawls, ponchos, and material for other creations. All of my homespun is for sale, please contact me for prices or other options.

Weaving:

I needed an outlet for all of my yarns, so I learned to weave on a rigid heddle loom. I especially enjoy creating random woven items. I weave blankets, shawls, table runners, scarves, and material to create ponchos, pouches. I also use worsted weight cotton to weave towels and wash cloths.
